Steps 1 through 3: do not eat, drink, chew gum, or smoke for 30 minutes before collecting. Remove the collector without touching the sponge tip, rub it along the lower gums 10 times on each side, then hold the tube upright and unscrew the cap.

Steps 4 through 7: turn the cap upside down, insert the sponge into the tube and close tightly. Invert the capped tube and shake 10 times. Put the tube in the specimen bag and kit box, then place it in the prepaid mailing box, seal, and mail it in.
